This development comprises a residentially led mixed use scheme comprising approximately 500 residential units, plus ancillary retail / commercial floor space on a large site close to the Thames. The site forms a key area within the Surrey Wharves masterplan and the development includes using the former Grand Surrey Canal as a linear park to regenerate North Deptford. A benefit of the development will be a significant improvement to pedestrian routes across the site and the public realm at this location. The planning application involved a full Transport Assessment, Travel Plan, Environmental Impact Assessment and in-depth highway capacity modelling. Agreement was reached with Transport for London and the London Borough of Lewisham, the strategic and local highway authorities and planning permission was granted in 2010. Construction has now commenced.
